WCGS Boot Fair May 19

We have another Boot Fair on Saturday May 19 at the school. The weather should be better than last time so do come along at 0700 to sell things or 0800 to buy some bargains. Helpers would be appreciated too if you feel able to give us a couple of hours of your time. Thank you!

Boot Fair This Saturday

Don’t forget it’s the PTFA boot fair in the school grounds this Saturday, April 21st. If you’re looking to sell items be there for 7am; if you’re looking to pick up some bargains the gates open from 8am. Bacon rolls, tea and coffee and other refreshments will be available from 7am. See you there!

Car Boot Fair – Helpers Please

WCGS is hosting a Car Boot Fair on Saturday April 21st
This is a great fundraiser but needs quite a few helpers to set up and run the refreshments stall, man the gates and take money from the sellers and buyers. We hope to have three shifts of helpers from 6-8; 8-10 and 10-noon. If you can help please let us know your name, email address, contact number and preferred time to help. Thank you! PTFA

Quiz Night Success!

Well done to everyone who took part in the Quiz Night on March 9th. 15 teams battled it out over eight rounds and at the end of the evening DiSpirito was victorious. The infamous Wooden Spoon was hotly contested with two teams sharing the last prize! Much fun was had by all and we cleared £1,000 profit for the school. Well done and thanks to the PTFA team for organising such a super evening and to boys, staff, parents and friends for supporting the event.

Could you be our next treasurer?!

The PTFA is in desperate need of a new Treasurer – can you help? The books and bank account are in excellent order so it’s not a difficult job to take on. Our outgoing Treasurer will support you in the early weeks so please volunteer your help if you’re able.

QUIZ NIGHT – tickets on sale

The ever-popular Quiz Night is back – on Friday March 9 (arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm start) in the School Hall.  Tickets are on sale now so form a team and get set for an entertaining evening of wits and wit.

Welcome to our homepage!

Welcome to the WCGS PTFA

We are a friendly, hardworking group of parents who meet once a month to plan and run a series of enjoyable events at the School.  Our aims are two-fold: to offer entertainment and hospitality at school events and to raise vital funds.

Our core team is ably supported by a group of volunteers who ‘step up’ to help at our busiest events including the Year 7 Induction Day BBQ in June and the Exam Café in September.

Events we typically host are the Quiz Night and Murder Mystery evening.  We also supply and serve refreshments at school plays, concerts and the Festival of Carols in December.  We run the money-spinning Car Boot Fairs and the ever-popular Year 7 and Year 8 discos.

Please Join Us

We meet the first Monday of each month at the school to discuss and devise fundraising events.

The WCGS PTFA is a registered charity and ALL the funds we raise go to benefit the school.

The PTFA recently helped fund the Sports Hall, playground equipment including the ever-popular table tennis tables, the Grand Piano and electronic classroom equipment.    We match the funds raised on mufti days and work closely with the school to support its initiatives.  Our hard work is rewarded by giving the school and students events and purchases that would otherwise not be possible.
